We are pleased to announce that on September 8,
2011 the Zoning Board of Appeals of the Town of Huntington voted unanimously to approved
construction of a 100-foot cell tower on the Post's property.
Said Commander Bruce Brenner,
"I'm happy that the board followed all regulations and came to the proper vote. I want to thank
them for it."
This ruling goes a long way toward ensuring the future of our Post
by providing a much-needed revenue source. This, together with the significant capital investment
secured by NYS Senator Carl Marcellino, including a new roof, new flooring, signage and
other improvements, mean that we at Post 1469 can concern ourselves less with how we're going to keep our doors open, and
focus more fully on providing services to veterans. Thank you to all who help make these
good things happen. We deeply appreciate it.
